What can be treated by remedial massage therapy?

leg injuries (hamstring, calf, groin, quads and joints)
STRAINS
Most common cause of leg pain caused by over stretching. This generally results in the muscle going into spasm to protect itself. Symptoms are normally brief causing a sharp pain and feeling of tightness.
TEARS
Caused by stretching beyond the muscle's elastic limit, or over contraction. Tears are very painful giving a pain that feels like you've been shot and generally leave you unable to walk. Tears generally result in bruising.
TWISTING/JARRING
This will result in a distorting of the musculature involved. Re-balancing will be necessary to regain full function of the system.
TREATMENT
Remedial Massage treatments include: Neuromuscular trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage and specific stretching will rebalance the system. These therapies are also useful for treating minor joint injuries.
Remedial Massage, sometimes called Medical Massage, is also used to treat whiplash, sciatica and Repetitive Strain Injuries.
