A whiplash injury is caused by the rapid movement of the head during a traumatic event.
Depending on the severity of the injury:
  • Ligaments or muscles may be torn
  • Some muscles may be in spasm to protect vertebrae, other muscles will be over stretched.
  • Nerves will be trapped & possibly over stretched

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a repetitive strain injury caused by constant use of the wrist and finger flexors. This can be caused by fine motor movements such as typing or playing a stringed instrument.
The muscles become shortened and thickened which causes them to press on the median nerve resulting in numbness or pain.
Deep tissue massage and neuromuscular trigger point therapy, combined with advanced stretching techniques will help return the muscles to their natural state reducing pressure on the median nerve.
